I can't believe it's been 10 years already! It seems just like yesterday, I was a newbie to Blogger...and was learning and figuring out how to post, let alone, add codes and contents to this blog. I never thought I'd be blogging about all things P&P , not too mention this long, but it's all because of my on going love for this 2005 movie version of  Pride & Prejudice   and the amazing actors who portrayed my favorite P&P characters brilliantly on this 4th-time Oscar nominated film. I've really enjoyed blogging here and posting all things  P&P (though in recent years it's been mostly about P&P actors and their TV & Film project news articles ) and Austen  related topics as frequently as I've been able to for all these 10 amaz

Pride and Prejudice Quotes from Novel to Film (Chapter 9)

Image
Continuing from my previous posts ( Chapters 1-8 ) and moving on to Chapter 9 , which was about Mrs. Bennet embarrassing Jane and Lizzie in a conversation with Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy in addition to Elizabeth & Darcy 's banter at the Meryton Ball . Plus, Lydia suggested a ball to Mr. Bingley (at Netherfield in the movie). It's interesting that the one long conversation in the same chapter in P&P novel, like this chapter (9) was made into two separate key scenes in the movie, but the dialogue was pretty much similar (for the most part) in both novel and film.

Matthew Macfadyen narrates audio CD of The Snowman: The Book of the Classic Film

Image
Matthew Macfadyen has either read / narrated a chapter or two of a few well known literary novels such as the first proposal passage of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice novel , Leo Tolstoy's Anna Karenina , and Anne Rise's Prince Lestat . He also had done voice-overs for several TV commercials/adverts such as Haagen Daz and M&S Food Adverts to name two, even read a few poems (ie. When You Are Old , This Is Just To Say , and Shakespeare's Sonnet 29 ), and many more (see an extensive list of MM's Audio/Voiceovers via Darcylicious ). Basically, Matthew can read/narrate just about anything even the entire P&P novel (if only...at least he did read the first proposal part and did a bit of voice-over for Darcy's letter in the movie) or phone book and I could listen to his beautiful, soothing, and velvety voice all day! Now, looks like there's another new wonderful narration by MM , which is for an audio CD of Raymond Briggs 's classic The Snowm
