Okay, I'm not going to stop blogging here as I've been blogging and maintaining this P&P Blog for over 7 years and it's been a lot a fun. I love and enjoy posting randomly here even if it's a lot of work and I spent countless hours on uploading photos and trailer screen captures, posting TV & Film news of my favorite P&P (2005) actors and director Joe Wright (as well as any P&P/Austen related news articles), editing and updating various sections and pages of this blog, and keeping my all-time favorite movie alive and maintaining this fan blog for my fellow devoted P&P fans for as long as I can. It sure is a lot of work, especially when I do it all, mostly by myself (and don't get paid doing it either, but I don't mind because I love P&P and this 2005 movie so much that it has become a personal hobby and passion of mine to keep this going for almost 8 years now. The best thing about this is...this is my blog, my precious baby blog t

Which Elizabeth & Darcy pairings are closest in ages to their Pride and Prejudice book counterparts?

Image
Elizabeth Bennet & Mr. Darcy are 20 and 28 years old in Jane Austen 's original Pride and Prejudice novel. Several actors have played/portrayed Elizabeth Bennet & Mr. Darcy in both big screen and small screen since 1940 to this day (to date), but did you know, only one pair of EB / Darcy actors were exactl y or rather the closest to their book counterparts ? Here's a compiled list (though the *LBD series pairing is included in both picture and the list below, their ages are in ??? since I don't know their ages at all as they are not listed anywhere, neither on their official sites, nor IMDB...my guess would be, they're either in the mid to late 20s or so...) to see which EB/Darcy pairing (of P&P actors ) is accurate in terms of ages as their book counterparts ...

Happy 239th Birthday Jane Austen!

Image
Happy 239th Birthday to the lovely, genius and way ahead of her time, beloved English novelist, the one and only, JANE AUSTEN ! Worth re-posting every year (and slightly edited and updated) for your FYI... Remembering and celebrating her birthday today, Jane Austen , the woman who wrote the original Pride and Prejudice novel (which had been made into several TV and Film adaptations including the 2005 film, Pride & Prejudice ), which was her first (can you believe unsuccessful ?!) submission to a publisher back in 1797 ( 216 years ago) titled "First Impressions" (later changed to "Pride and Prejudice" ). She revised " First Impressions " and published it entitled " Pride and Prejudice " in 1813 ( 201 years ago, 11 months ago this year!).

When People say things...about Jane Austen, Keira Knightley, Matthew Macfadyen, and Pride & Prejudice movie! #OMGICantEven

Image
When people say things... #OMGICantEven Okay, I'm not trying to be a spelling or grammar detective here, but when I see/hear/read people (P&P/Austen fans or not...but most especially some...not all...P&P/Austen fans, who should know better. I can understand once and if you're not a fan, but to) say things about P&P/Austen adaptations without checking if they are right or often misspell either Jane Austen or Elizabeth Bennet 's last names, it just irks me and I can't help but SMH (shakes my head) and say, OMG , I can't even know what to say (or #hashtag #OMGICANTEVEN! for short, lol). I thought I'd post and rant a bit here about the following things below that I've been noticing on social media recently (which doesn't really bother me and I mostly ignore them, but here I thought I'd mention them, just because I need to vent a little about these on my blog, get it out of the way...and then, let it go! *just like Elsa did in Froze

6 Signs That Elizabeth Bennet Has Taken Over Your Life by Syrie James [Jane Austen's First Love Holiday Blog Tour & Fabulous Giveaways!]

Image
[Updated: 12/24/14] 5 LUCKY WINNERS has been ANNOUNCED for JANE AUSTEN's FIRST LOVE HOLIDAY BLOG TOUR GIVEAWAY CONTEST here! Did you win? Congrats to all the winners!!! Jane Austen may well have based her character Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice on herself, for they are similar in many ways. Jane Austen was an extremely intelligent woman with a wonderful (and sometimes snarky) sense of humor, and was a master at delivering the ironic, barbed comment. So was Elizabeth Bennet. Jane was an independent thinker who loved taking long walks in the countryside. She was devoted to her family and friends, yet very particular when it came to opening her heart to others. Elizabeth Bennet was exactly the same!

Happy Birthday Dame Judi Dench!

Today  Dame  Judi Dench ,    Pride & Prejudice   2005 's very own  Lady Catherine  celebrates her  80th birthday . Born  Judith Olivia Dench ,   December 9 ,  1934  in  York, North Yorkshire, England, UK . Happy Birthday Dame Judi Dench!!! Worth re-posting... Academy Award Winner  (for  Best Supporting Actress  in  Shakespeare in Love )  Miss Dench  is one of the busiest English actresses around and has done countless of films (ie.  Bond Films ,  As Time Goes By  tv series,  Mrs. Henderson Presents  with  P&P co-star   Kelly Reilly ,  Shakespeare In Love ,  Ladies In Lavender , and many other made for TV movies and feature films...too many to list here, just check out her  IMDB filmography ) throughout her very long acting career, but to us  P&P movie fans , she will always be known as the proud and domineering  Lady Catherine  (aunt of  Mr. Darcy  and patroness of  Mr. Collins ), even in her small role and brief scenes in the  P&P  05 film, her pres

Book Review: Jane Austen's First Love by Syrie James

Image
I recently finished reading Jane Austen's First Love by Syrie James . A big thank you to her and to the wonderful Laurel Ann Nattress for sending me a copy to read and review here. This blog is participating the Jane Austen's First Love Holiday Blog Tour ( November 17th - 14th ), which I'll have author Syrie James stop by here and do a guest blog post next week on Tuesday, December 9th . It's been a while since I have an Austen author guest blog here, so I'm very excited and honored to be part of Syrie James ' holiday blog tour this month for her latest published novel. While I've mostly posted here P&P/Austen related Book Recommendations and Movie Reviews (you can read more of my film reviews in my Movies Blog ), this is actually my third book review (thus far...I previously reviewed Austenprose’s Laurel Ann Nattress ' Jane Austen Made Me Do It and Fitzwilliam Ebenezer Darcy by Barbara Tiller Cole ) as Ashley (my fellow blo

This movie is currently at #1 in America (and globally) for two weeks now and is predicted to be #1 again this weekend. The soundtrack is #1 on Billboard's album chart and Jennifer Lawrence 's song The Hanging Tree is currently #2 in US iTunes Charts and #1 in 36 countries. In Retrospect: 9 Years of Joe Wright's Pride & Prejudice and 9 reasons why I still love watching it more and more!

Image
This year (last September 16th in the UK and last month of November 11th limited and 23rd expansion in US/Canada ), Joe Wright 's Pride & Prejudice (2005) film starring Keira Knightley & Matthew Macfadyen had its 9th year anniversary . Okay, I'm late (but better late than never, right?) on this, but I thought I'd still post here about 9 reasons why this film adaptation of Jane Austen 's classic Pride and Prejudice novel remains my all-time favorite movie to watch (over and over) for nearly a decade now and I still love watching it more and more. It's one of those few, rare movies that just never gets old in my viewing no matter how many times I've seen it over the years. I just never get tired of watching it. I've seen so many movies and love movies in various genres. If you've been following and reading this blog for years, you'd know that when I post my film reviews related to P&P (2005) actors here, I link the full

Thanksgiving Box Office: Mockingjay - Part 1 remains at #1 and tops Thanksgiving weekend US BO with $57 Million; Gone Girl remains at top 10 with a domestic total of $160 Million; and The Imitation Game with $482K on 4 screens!

Looks like half of the Bennet family ( Papa Bennet and youngest daughter Lydia Bennet on top of this weekend's box office...aka Donald Sutherland and Jena Malone even in a cameo part. Following them are older Bennet sisters Jane Bennet and Elizabeth Bennet ...aka Rosamund Pike and Keira Knightley ) had a great Thanksgiving weekend at this past weekend's U.S. Box Office chart ...as in the P&P (2005) actors who played them, of course...starring/co-starring in movies that are currently in theaters worldwide. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1   ( Donald Sutherland   as  President Snow  and  Jena Malone   as  Johanna Mason  co-star) remained at #1 this weekend's US Box Office chart with $56.9 million and total of $225.6 million . It's foreign Box office is doing even much better with $254.4 million  (on its second weekend) with a worldwide total of $480 million after 10 days . Meanwhile,  Gone Girl  (starring  Rosamund Pike and   Ben Affleck ) continue
